Line Lead



Leading employees in performing a wide variety of production operations. Maintaining workflow, ensuring availability of proper materials, tools, and fixtures, organizing work assignments, and delegating those assignments. Monitoring safety practices and housekeeping. Interacting with other departments in manufacturing to resolve challenges that interfere with the group s productivity.

Duties include:
Leading all personnel and operations on the shift, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between shifts and departments.
Ensuring safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.
Continuously drive the facility s culture toward a Safety conscious environment. Challenge status quo Safety behaviors, engage in Safety initiatives, and attend all Safety related training.
Supporting and nurturing the BBS culture to include thorough and timely BBS submissions by team members.
Fostering an environment of Continuous Improvement with others by creating an environment for ownership and decision-making for a given task area. Can be relied upon to guide employees ambitions and attitudes toward solving problems as a team, remaining motivated as a team, and moving each of the task areas forward within the business.
Organizing work for smooth operations. Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, and facilitating corrections to malfunctions within the operation.
Maintaining process control by monitoring statistical information and reporting variations to Team Leader or Quality Assurance Manager.
Initiating and driving continuous improvement within the department, operations, and other areas of the facility as part of the team to ensure plant sustainability.
Verifying correct identification, weights, and warehousing of products.
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Supervising loading and unloading of trucks, staging of raw and finished goods, and verifying that all associated paperwork is correctly completed to include all operational SAP data entries.
Reporting any process and equipment problems. Calls Maintenance Supervisor on evenings and weekends for assistance with problems utilizing the 5/30 minute rule.
Verifying that discharges from the plant are within limits. Reports any deviations.
Supervising all downtime and challenges, explaining in detail what corrective actions were taken, and notifying the Team Leader or Operations Manager of any downtime over thirty minutes immediately.
Maintaining a thorough knowledge of all processes, equipment, policies, and procedures.
Participating in task meetings; suggest changes in work tasks and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.
Working as the Acting Team Lead in their absence.
Following all DFA GMPs and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Shift start: 10:00PM
Shift length: 8 hours
Monday - Friday, mandatory overtime, work some weekends

At least 3 years of experience as an operator with demonstrated abilities to lead by example as well as completing tasks through a combination of leading team efforts, initiating and following through with action plans
